Shivanee Ramlochan

Shivanee Ramlochan is a Trinidadian poet, fiction writer and literary critic. She is the book review editor for Caribbean Beat, the in-flight magazine of Caribbean Airlines. Shivanee is the assistant editor of the Caribbean Review of Books and the chief book reviewer of the Trinidad Guardian’s Sunday Arts Section. She is the official blogger and social media manager of the NGC Bocas Lit Fest, Trinidad and Tobago’s premier literary festival, and performs the same roles for Paper Based Bookshop, T & T’s sole independent bookseller specializing in Caribbean literature.

She won the second place prize for her poetry in the 2014 Small Axe Literary Competition, and was shortlisted for the 2015 Hollick Arvon Caribbean Writers Prize. Her creative writing has been published in tongues of the ocean, Draconian Switch, The Caribbean Review of Books, Small Axe, Moko Magazine and most recently, in the 2015 Peekash Press anthology, Coming Up Hot: Eight New Poets from the Caribbean.
